Want to join in Growing Newsome’s Autumn event?

You can pick up seed garlic, plus onions and some overwintering plants at our Autumn event on Saturday 16th October from 10am to 1pm at Newsome Scout Hall in Huddersfield. It’s a friendly, informal morning where you can buy locally grown food, meet other local growers and volunteers, have a cuppa, then enjoy a two course lunch.

Our garlic includes varieties that can be planted in October or November, and some that can be planted in early Spring. Garlic benefits from having a month or more in the ground at a temperature of 10C or less – so now is a good time to get growing.

We are also interested in hearing from groups who have local produce to sell, or who have activities to demonstrate on the day or information to share. Please feel free to get in touch if you’re interested in taking part. Contact: growingnewsome@gmail.com

Can’t make it on the day? If we have some garlic bulbs left after the event, we also offer these for sale locally. Please email us to find out what we have available.
