Quiet Flows the Don: The Transformation of Europe’s Dirtiest River
Saturday 9 November 2.00pm FREE Lesser Civic Hall, Holmfirth
Dir. Paul Adam (UK 2019, 89mins)
Once one of the dirtiest rivers in Europe, the Don is now alive with wildlife with fish, otters and herons. In a journey rich with insight into the history and landscape of the river environmentalists, those who worked along it and volunteers who faced a daunting task talk about how they worked together to clean it up.
Locally volunteers in the charity River Holme Connections are engaged in improving the River Holme catchment area for wildlife, people and the local economy.
