The Calm Zone (!) in full swing at the Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival this weekend. The weather was kind and the event was a great success, talking to several traders on Sunday evening, they were more than pleased with how the weekend had gone and had sold all their produce.
Congratulations to Sam and her team at Huddersfield Live (especially Tiffany who convinced me that one of our planters should go home with her!) for staging a brilliant event that brings thousands of people into the town centre, all spending time and money and according to all the people I spoke to, having a great time.
Many thanks, also to S2R and the Peace Pit Growing Group, especially Jason, Byron and their volunteers who did a great job in providing and planting the displays in our planters, they were much admired by everyone. Thanks to Kirklees Council, Emma Mills, for providing the “green carpet” and Paul Wain for the filling in our planters and arranging the delivery and collection of the materials.
A special thanks to Andy Goff whose help was, as ever invaluable and carried out in his own time. It is rumoured that after helping to break down the Calm Zone on Sunday evening he may have called for a small libation on his way home !
