Volunteering with Kirklees Councils “I’m In” initiative

Kirklees Council is currently (4/16) running a program called “I’m In” as part of the Cities of Service initiative.  Their website seems to point to Voluntary Action Kirklees and Do It but they are also running a couple of specific projects:

  • Out and About – tackling loneliness in our older population
  • MENtors – providing a positive influence and support for young men

If you have initiatives which might fit with these objectives it might be worth getting in touch with them.

National Council for Voluntary Organisations

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations has a huge bank of resources for the voluntary sector called KnowHow Nonprofit.  Organisations with an income of less than £30,000 are currently eligible for free membership of NCVO which will enable you to use their video training and trustee recruitment services.  Well worth joining up.

There is some training information available even without joining up at the KnowHow Nonprofit part of their site.
