We at Safer Kirklees are currently promoting the Police and Crime Commissioners Safer Communities Fund. Monies are available to help local community and voluntary groups support projects that look to challenge and reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour in our communities.
We have successfully bid for a number of projects in the past and are happy to announce that a new round 15 of funding is now open and closes on the Friday 7th December. All the details regarding the latest round of funding can be found at- https://www.westyorkshire-pcc.gov.uk/safer-communities-fund/how-to-apply.aspx
About the scheme:
The Safer Communities Fund has been launched to help voluntary, community groups, charities and partners make their communities safer and feel safer. Grants will be awarded in line with the priorities set out in the Police and Crime plan. To find out more about the plan, its priorities and how they were decided please click here.
The Safer Communities Fund is financed from monies recovered by West Yorkshire Police under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA). The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 lets us confiscate or recover the proceeds of crime from a criminal. Find out more about the Proceeds of Crime Act here.
The objectives of the fund are;
* To put POCA money back into communities
* Promote a simple, inclusive and transparent grant process
* To provide grants which can make a difference and make communities safer and feel safer
