A structure for the new organisation, Environment Kirklees (EK), has been proposed by a working group. If approved it would be established as an association based on the combined memberships of Kirklees Environment Partnership and Kirklees Wildlife & Landscape Partnership.
To fulfill its real potential there is also a need for a delivery organisation to complement the planned association. The KEP/KWLP working group is exploring how the existing not for profit company Environmental Alliance Ltd, established in 1997, could be transformed into the delivery organization for EK. If agreed, EK would be in a position to promote grant-aided projects and trading activities or contract services.
Proposals for discussion at forthcoming meetings of KEP (25th May) and KWLP (17th June) are outlined in a new briefing paper – Environment Kirklees proposed structure
