Growing Great Places is a new community crowdfunding programme from Kirklees Council which is helping citizens and organisations to get great ideas off the ground in our local places. As part of this programme, there are two free community workshops in late January and early February 2020.
Along with the workshops and tailored project support, there is also a fund of £50,000 available. Successful projects can potentially receive a pledge of up to £5,000 from Kirklees Council to support their campaign.
The Growing Communities project from Sanctuary Kirklees was one of the first successful campaigns, securing over £11,000 in pledges from 75 backers, which will be used to help refugees, asylum seekers and community members with growing organic flowers, fruit and vegetables in Golcar.
Come to one of the free workshops to:
• Learn about the programme and how you can get involved
• Hear about the funding available and the process to apply
• Learn about what makes a great crowdfunding project
• Get tips and advice on running a successful crowdfunding campaign
