Our garlic includes varieties that can be planted in October and in November, and some that can be planted after Christmas. Garlic needs a month or more in the ground at a temperature of 10C or less, and Autumn planting gives you the best chance for this – so now is a good time to get growing.
You can pick up your seed garlic, plus onions, overwintering leaf crops, fruit and some other goodies at our Autumn Gathering on Saturday 12th October from 10am to 1pm at Newsome Scout Hall. It’s a friendly, informal morning where you can buy locally grown food, meet other local growers, have a cuppa, then enjoy a two course lunch.
We are interested in hearing from groups who have local produce to sell, or who have relevant activities to demonstrate on the day. Please feel free to get in touch if you’re interested in taking part. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org

Can’t make it on the day? If we have some garlic bulbs left after the event, we also offer these for sale locally. Please email us to find out what we have available.
