We organize litter picks in and around the Heckmondwike area. We promote correct disposal of rubbish and report fly tipping. We also have undertaken some environmental projects.

We are researching and recording historical routes ensuring that they are legally recorded. We organise clearance days on Bridleways, Byways and Footpaths, Cutting back encroaching and overhanging vegetation.

Little Gomersal Community Association

Group volunteers regularly carry out rubbish clearing, clearing weeds and general tidying in our local area. We host free events for the public such as; Carols round the Tree at Christmas time and a Spring fair.

Marsden Walkers are Welcome

Promoting use of PROW footpaths within Marsden through waymarked trails, leading walks and running a walking festival. Supporting paths survey and running a volunteer ‘adopt a path’ group whereby members of the community monitor the condition of local paths. Occasional path clearing days.

Meltham Walkers are Welcome

Guided walks (monthly & free to all). Creation of new waymarked and documented walks. Volunteers inspect local footpaths ahead of each walk and either perform minor improvements or report to Kirklees. Volunteers have adopted a local park (Meltham Pleasure Grounds) in partnership with Kirklees Parks & Green Spaces. Monthly work-parties plus several volunteers attend weekly. […]
