Holmfirth Transition Town

As a Transition Town, HoTT is working towards a more sustainable ‘low carbon’ life style in the Holme Valley. We are involved in initiatives that include: community fruit and vegetable gardens (HoTT Edible);community energy schemes (HoTT Energy and HoTTWind); projects to reduce, reuse and recycle waste (HoTT Recycling Group); raising awareness of climate change through HoTT Films and work with Holmfirth Parish Council’s action plan; and continued work on the Kirklees Affordable Warmth project. Further, each year profits from HottWind’s community wind turbine, funds the Bright Green Community Trust that allocates grants to local green community projects.
