The proposed improvements include resurfacing to create a year-round usable surface, widening to allow people to pass each other comfortably, relaying and re-pointing the heritage cobbles around locks and bridges to make towpath more accessible and improved signage.
There will be a four-week consultation period (13/2-13/3) giving people the chance to give their views on the plans. You can find out further information or take part in the consultation online by visiting www.cyclecityconnect.co.uk/projects/huddersfield-narrow-canal-improvements.
There will also be 3 public consultation events at which people can view the plans, meet the CityConnect Team and the Canal and River Trust designers and leave their feedback.
