Kirklees Environment Partnership is holding a meeting on Wednesday 25th May (16.30) to hear a report from members of Huddersfield Friends of the Earth and the transition towns about their recent lobbying on the draft Kirklees Local Plan.
Huddersfield FoE with transition towns, HoTT and MaSTT, submitted a detailed submission on the draft Local Plan and had an opportunity to explore the response with Kirklees Council planners.
The meeting will look at what more can be done to ensure the Local Plan meets the sustainability challenges of the future both before its submission to government and in the future when it provides the planning framework for the next decades.
The agenda also includes a session on the future of KEP with a proposal to set up a not for profit company to develop the apprenticeship project. The meeting will be held at the Methodist Mission, Lord Street and is open to all organisations who have an interest in local sustainability.
A detailed agenda is in the next news post about the KEP General Meeting https://naturalkirklees.org/kep-general-meeting-25th-may-16-30-agenda/
